The three finalists will be honored at the 24th Annual Lou Groza Awards Banquet on Monday, December 7 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, FL. UCLA senior Ka’imi Fairbairn kicked his way into the record books with his first of four field goals in the Bruins’ heart-breaking last second 31-27 loss to Washington State at the Rose Bowl on Saturday. The 22-yard kick made him the all-time leading scorer in both UCLA and Pac-12 Conference history with 402 career points. The Kailua, Hawaii native connected again from 22 and twice from 38 yards to bring his season totals on field goals to 19 of 20. He has now made all 39 PATs this season and his 96 points lead all Bruin scorers and are in the top ten among FBS kickers. Fairbairn, who has made 30 of his last 32 field goal tries, is trying to become the second UCLA kicker to win the Lou Groza Award, joining current New Orleans Saints kicker Kai Forbath.

Semifinalist Jaden Oberkrom is making a strong bid to join 1995 winner Michael Reeder as the second TCU kicker to take the Lou Groza Award. The senior from Arlington, Texas kicked field goals of 42, 38 and 36 yards in the Horned Frogs’ 23-17 defeat of Kansas in Fort Worth on Saturday. He added 2 extra points as well. The win keeps TCU in the conversation for the Big 12 championship as well as the FBS playoff. Oberkrom passed former Groza finalist Mason Crosby into second place all-time in Big 12 Conference career field goals with 74, which is the most in TCU history. His 11 points brought his season total to 98 which lead the team and place him in a 4th place tie among FBS kickers.

Utah junior Andy Phillips earned a Star of the Week selection for the second consecutive week by kicking field goals of 34, 38 and 40 yards in the Utes’ 37-30 double overtime loss to Arizona in Tucson, on Saturday. The 40 yarder came in the first overtime and made him Utah’s career leader with 58 makes, with his senior season still to play. The Draper, Utah native has made 18 of his 22 field goal attempts this season which puts him in a tie for sixth place among FBS kickers. He made all three of his extra point attempts to bring his total to 40 of 40 on the season and give him a team-leading 94 points.
